A letter to your younger sister, from someone who has always been in her corner
Written by hand · Sealed with wax · Sent as one link
Older sisters often have years of advice stored up and no easy way to say it without sounding like a second mom. A good letter swaps instructions for memories: the time you saw her be brave, the thing only you remember about her. Then it says plainly that you are on her side, whatever she decides.

Ways to begin
“I was thinking about the summer you taught yourself to ride a bike on the hill behind our house, and how you refused to let me hold the seat. You've been doing things your own way ever since, and I love that about you.”
“I'm not writing to give advice. I'm writing because I'm proud of you, and I don't think I say it often enough.”
“I know things have been heavy lately, and you don't have to answer this or explain anything. I just want you to know I'm right here, any hour, no questions.”
What to write
1. Share one specific memory only the two of you have, like a trip, an inside joke or a night she was there for you. It proves you see her, not just a little sister.
2. Skip the "you should" sentences. If you do have advice, turn it into something you went through: "When I was your age, I worried about this too, and here is what helped."
3. Say one clear thing she can count on, such as "call me at 2 a.m., I mean it." A concrete offer feels warmer than a general "I'm here for you."
Frequently asked questions
Q. How do I write to my younger sister without sounding bossy?
Write about your own experience and your feelings rather than what she ought to do. Use "I" more than "you," ask a question or two instead of giving orders, and end with an offer of support, not a list of expectations.
Q. Can I make sure she only opens it on her birthday or graduation day?
Yes. Set an opening date and the letter unlocks at 00:00 that day. You send one link by text, email or any messenger, and she opens it in her browser with no app and no sign-up. Writing, sealing and sending are free.
